Thank you Father Solanus for hearing our prayers! We were blessed with carrying the often painful cross of infertility. The years of struggle blessed us with an improved faith life and wonderful new friendships with other struggling Catholic couples. Now, we are experiencing a new blessing as we await the birth of our first child! In May, 2010 we took a pilgrimage to the Solanus Casey Center. We arrived for Sunday Mass and stayed the full day enjoying the Center and the Blessing of the Sick. In the months after our visit we started a daily prayer for the beatification of Solanus Casey that included a request to answer our prayer for children. In late August, 2010 we found out that we were expecting a child! God is good in giving us so many blessings. We thank Father Solanus for interceding on our behalf! E.L., Fort Wayne, Indiana

Dear Brothers,
I feel blessed to have Father Solanus Casey in my prayer life since 2001 when I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Since that time I have been cancer free and feel so blessed that Father Solanus is continually interceding for me. I pray to him daily, wear his relic badge, and tell others about him. May we be blessed by the good news that he will become officially a saint. J.H., IA

Dear Br. Richard,
About an hour ago, I asked Fr. Solanus to intercede for my boyfriend whose flight was ‘stuck’ in Monterrey Mexico. Thanks to Fr. Solanus’ intercessory prayer he was able to continue his trip. Thank you Fr. Solanus for your intercession before Our Lord! I.I., via email

On September 5, 2009, my son Chandler was in a nearly fatal jet-ski accident on our lake. The young man responsible for the accident refused to assist Chandler and took off. In great pain, Chandler knew he had to get help. He drove a mile on the lake to get home where we called 911. His left leg was obviously broken, but he had other injuries to his lower body area. Before he was loaded into the ambulance, I pinned his Fr. Solanus Relic Badge to him. Then we were off to University of Michigan Hospital’s ER. The orthopaedic surgeon did not know if Chandler would even walk again, let alone play hockey. His other surgeon had very delicate work to do. After two surgeries, 196 stitches, titanium rods inserted into his left leg, and critical care for 48 hours, Chandler was discharged. The healing process and many prayers later, Chandler is healed for the most part. He was playing hockey again after about five weeks in a wheelchair. We would like to express our gratitude to Fr. Solanus and Guardian Angels who came in the form of Dr. Vanderhave and Dr. Wan, the ER trauma staff at U-M, Mott’s Six West, EMS, the marine patrol, and the state troopers involved. We would also like to thank his tutors, pediatrician, PT, psychologist, friends, neighbors, and our special friends involved in hockey. And last, but not least, his paternal grandparents, who have supported us mentally and financially. They filled in for transportation and appointments when needed. There is no scarring and we cannot see the fracture on the X-ray where his leg was broken. The titanium rods were removed April 2010. The surgeons did not take credit for the recovery, saying Chandler was a great healer. In mere seconds this accident could have been even more tragic. The relic badge is still with Chandler, now 15 years old. Blessings of gratitude for a chance to tell Chandler’s story.
