Sensory-Friendly Mass

On Sunday, October 19th, St. Bonaventure Chapel at the Solanus Casey Center will host a sensory-friendly Mass at Noon. This Sunday’s liturgy is open to all those who experience a disability. For those who may not know what a sensory-friendly Mass is, here is a brief description of what you may experience: Lights will be lower than usual, a sign language interpreter will be present, music melodies will be lower without significant high notes, there will be no incense, a shorter and simpler homily, a low-gluten host, and we will provide headphones and other sensory items as needed.

We welcome all those who may find Mass challenging because of heightened sensitivity to sounds and smells. We offer this safe space to worship as a community. The Mass collection will go to support the National Catholic Partnership on Disability.
