Solanus the Baptizer

Hot off the publication of new research in “American Catholic Studies,” Fr. Edward Foley, Capuchin, Vice Postulator of the Cause for Canonization of Blessed Solanus Casey shares the results of his research. In his early ministry in New York, Blessed Solanus Casey baptized hundreds of infants at Sacred Heart Parish in Yonkers, and at Our Lady of Sorrows in Manhattan. This puts Father Solanus Casey’s sacramental ministry in a new light and provides a deeper understanding of this American Blessed. Mr. Tim Hinkle, the Public Relations Director for the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, sat down with Fr. Edward via Zoom for this discussion.
