Blessing of the Pets

St. Francis of Assisi had a deep love and respect for creation. During his life, he famously preached to the birds. His follower St. Anthony of Padua preached to the fish. Today, St. Francis is associated with nature, creation and animals and is the patron of animals.

The Capuchin friars of the Solanus Casey Center invite you to bring your beloved pet to the Creation Garden for a blessing on Sunday, October 6, just a few days after St. Francis’ feast day. If you have a friend that barks, meows, chirps or even slithers, bring it to the Solanus Casey Center for a blessing.
